Onlays and inlays are custom laboratory made fillings which are cemented onto the tooth. These can be a good alternative to a full crown and where a normal filling cannot be placed. A choice of materials is available, ranging from composite to porcelain to gold.

Once any decay has been removed, the dentist will begin to fill the tooth with composite. Once hardened, the filling will then be shaped to look as natural as possible and in a way that doesn’t interfere with your biting and chewing.
